On the corner of 7th
and Nebraska Avenue stands more than just a building—it’s the first church
planted in the community of York, a presence of faith and hope for over 150
years. And today, we’re still here—not just as a landmark, more than a building,
but as a living, breathing community. We are York First.
A church that has stood through every season, a people committed to one
mission: to grow a Christ-centered community that loves and serves. We love because Christ first loved us. We connect with one another as we grow together. We serve, because God calls us outward, to make a difference in the lives
around us.
Our space is more than walls—it’s a home for the community. On Wednesday
nights, children and youth fill our halls with laughter, learning, and
friendship--- a safe place to grow and belong. They are encouraged to step
outside their comfort zones, discovering new ways to live out their faith,
knowing that church happens wherever we gather to love, learn, and serve.
On Sundays, we worship with a blend of tradition and contemporary
praise—honoring where we have been and embracing where God is leading. It’s a space where all ages can come as they are--- yet be transformed by the
love of Christ. We believe Christ is
still transforming lives—right here, right now. And we believe we are called to join Him.
Whether you are exploring faith, returning to church, or looking for a place
to belong, there’s a place for you at York First UMC! There is room for you here.
Come discover. Come belong. Come serve.
